PT Frustration

I had my first PT session last week. We had a long conversation about building trust in her so that I would let her put my tailbone back into place. So imagine my shock when I went in today for my second session, and was actually excited and hopeful to get some more relief, only to find she had rescheduled me with someone else. There was just no way that was going to happen. As if it's not bad enough that we have to lose all modesty with this; when it comes to internal PT I think I have the right to get the person I scheduled the appointment with. I've been assured the remainder of my appointments are with her but I'm not sure I want to bother. I mean good grief, if that's building trust then I'm not interested.

Hi Tracy,
I'm so sorry that happened to you! I remember your other post and how you talked about trust with this PT. How upsetting! I understand and completely agree with you that, because of the
nature of our PT treatments, you want someone that's DEDICATED to you. That's how trust is built. Not by passing you around to other therapists! I also understand that "stuff happens", but it would've been nice if they called to give you a heads up that this particular therapist would be unavailable, giving you the
option of either rescheduling or seeing someone else.
Based on their assurance that this won't happen again, maybe you could give them one more chance. Very nicely, but CLEARLY explain how you felt about this to the therapist you signed up to see. It could be they didn't think you'd mind who provided your treatments.
Please let us know how it goes, if you decide to go back.
Hugs,
Karyn

Really Tracy, I think you should have been notified unless it was a true emergency and you couldn't be notified in time. I would not have been happy either.

That's crazy they didn't tell you before hand. They should have called you and asked if you wanted to reschedule or go with a different PT. I agree with you pelvic PT requires some trust and it shouldn't be taken lightly. If you decide to go back I would explain how this upset you and tell them you'd appreciate to be called ahead of time if your PT can't make it. But I'd understand if you chose not to go back too.

I do appreciate the support. I plan on chatting with the therapist before my next scheduled appt. I really think the first session helped, heck, I sat for 10 minutes today before I decided the burning was not worth pushing my luck with. Just a week in a half and then I see Loretta then Dr. C in Hibner's office. I think I'll hold future PT sessions and after that.
