I have complained about my pain management doctor in the past, but the truth is I dont really have a doctor there just hard working PAs who try to help. So I show up complaining the pain medicine was not enough and she said only way she could increase it is if I go on the time released medicine. I have always preferred to just take the instant release, it makes it easier when you stop. So I was taking oxycodone IR 15mg , 3 a day and she increased that to a new drug Zohydra, twice a day. So it works a little better but do not like time released medicine, but they just keep pushing it. So this medicine is touted to last 12 hours but with me it seemed to wear off at 9hrs and had uneven pain control. But I am grateful for it as I know it easier to buy plutonium than opiods these days.
She also increased my lyrica from 300mg to 450mg. Little worried about taking that much lyrica as I have low platelets and usually have to stop lyrica cause my platelets get too low. I haven't checked them in 6 months so hope that aren't too low. Just wondering if others have found an increase in lyrica to be helpful. I am taking 300mg and I thought that was the maximum dose?

Re: Latest pain doctor appointment
When I was on Lyrica the pain clinic told me you need doses of 600mg per day for nerve pain relief. I could not get past 150-200 without dozing off. And yes you need to be careful if you complain too much about which opioids and how much are prescribed. With all the hysteria going on they may just stop providing them all together.
