Hello all
I am 44 years old and gave birth to a beautiful girl 2 years ago with IVF.
it was a terrible pregnancy with a common compleint to ALL doctors and health professionals that my vagina was dragging or falling out my right side leg..they all said don't worry thats just pregnancy..!
2 years down the track, 3 gynos, 1 colonoscopy, 3 physios and numerous breakdowns and I still feel like my vagina is literally falling out my right side of my leg.
it gets worse during the day and I cannot walk far. if I squat or kneel down it feels like it is trying to bulge out.
i have crazy legs night after night with a burning sensation that I cannot control..I feel like I have to run and stretch.
I feel like I will never get rid of this problem and I am SICK of professionals telling me it will go away or its just childbirth..bull shit..
I have googled like crazy to find out what could be wrong with me and just today I found an image online of a pelvis with the Pudendal nerve running through it and this is what the problem is.
during pregnancy I could not lie on my right side at all because the pain was soo bad and my leg would tingle, burn and go to sleep so i did my whole pregnancy sleeping semi upright in a recliner on the lounge...
now how or who do i go to to get this sorted and get some kind of life back..
please help

Hi Tammy,
Sorry, I don't know much about the map of Australia but maybe you can find a physician off the list of Australian providers on the pudendalhope.org website. http://www.pudendalhope.info/node/56
Dr. Thierry Vancaillie on that list has an excellent reputation from everything I have heard about him. I don't know if you are able to travel to see him. You could also check with his office to find out if they know of any good physicians in your area.
If you don't have a true pelvic floor prolapse but just the feeling of it instead I'm not sure if this suggestion would help but you could try wearing thigh shapers to give you a feeling of support.
You might also want to google restless leg syndrome to see if that matches your leg symptoms. I have heard gabapentin or lyrica might help it.
Hope these suggestions help. Congratulations on your baby girl and I hope you will be able to get your life back.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Thierry Vancaille in Sydney is amazing. He specialises in pain management and understands and listens! Many women and men travel from all over the country to see him. I was suicidal before I saw him and after working our way through different types of procedures to fix this, I’m having a sacral nerve stimulator implanted which is going to change my life. Have a look at www.whria.com.au for more info on Proff Vancaille and the services he offers. Good luck! Lucy
