I'll let you all know how it goes. I'm going to bring this into work. I've been alternating between a standing desk and a kneeling chair, but I still get a lot of genital pain by the end of the day and now some foot and back pain to go with it.

It lets you adjust the split of the seat, and also lets you rock around and move laterally, so I figured that sounded like fun. I also got the arm that goes around the front. I've spent over a thousand already on cushions, chairs, and other gear because of this problem, so hey, what's another thousand or so? One more straw to grasp at, eh?

I'll post a review after I've gotten it and used it for a while.

Well, I ended up having buyer's remorse and sought to cancel my order. The manager at SitHealthier.com talked me into trying the cheaper version of the Salli stool I had originally ordered, the Salli Swayfit, so that's what I went with. All told, it cost around $900.

I have to give it a mixed review. The two halves of the chair are width-adjustable, but the mechanism to adjust them is extremely hard to move. It took lots of WD-40 and about two hours of me smacking it with various household items until I was able to get the locking mechanism to unlock. I widened the split because I felt the original config was too narrow and thus too apt to put pressure on my pudendal nerve.

So it's light, I'll give it that. I'm a contractor at my current workplace, and as a result I have to park way far away from the building I'm in (the work campus is huge). Only full employees can park in the garages of the actual buildings where they work. So anyway, I wanted a piece of furniture that would be easy to carry, if needed. The stool is only 26 or so lbs. Assembly is required, but it's very easy and takes almost no time. I was able to get it to my desk. There is no up/down height adjustment, which is too bad. I think you only get that on the more expensive model.

If you're a woman, forget about sitting modestly on this stool. The most comfortable way to sit on it is with your legs wide open. I'm not wearing dresses to work anymore, as all of my work dresses end just below the knee. Wearing an ankle-length skirt or dress would work, though. Positioning yourself correctly on the stool is key, at least it is for me. If you don't, you will irritate the bejeezus out of your pudendal nerve. If you do, you will rest your weight safely on your sitbones/ischial tuberosities. Even if you do position yourself correctly, though, it may start to hurt after a while. The stool is not comfortable. The instructions that come with the stool say that you will probably have to buld up to using the stool all day, and believe me, in my case that's very true. I still have to alternate between stool and standing desk for now. If you sit correctly on the stool, you help develop your core muscles and improve your posture as well.

So, bottom line, the Salli SwayFit stool is a mixed bag for me. I can't wholeheartedly recommend it. It's really damn expensive. Adjusting the split and width of the seat is very difficult. Sitting on the Salli stool correctly takes work and practice, and sitting on it incorrectly causes pain to the very nerve to which I'm trying to avoid further injury. The Salli stool does have its virtues, however, and maybe a month from now when my butt and sit bones have toughened up and I've mastered sitting on it correctly I will be singing its praises.

Just curious what their return policy is if you aren't happy with it. Some places take back just about anything for any reason, no questions asked, but it sounds like maybe this company does not. I hope you end up liking it after all.

Unfortunately, no returns allowed. I'm not happy with it, unfortunately. So I'd advise others out there not to buy this sight unseen and instead to only buy if you can try it out in a showroom.

I work with SIt-Healthier and I thought it will be best to explain why we don't allow a refund. First of all, these days most of the manufacturer (98%) don't offer us (retailers) any refund. Secondly, once a chair is assembled there is no way to dismantle the chair without making any marks, hence, we can't sell it to another customer as new. Besides, shipping and Tax (we offer free shipping and tax) cost a significant amount of money. I hope it clears up a couple of things. We have a few chairs that come with 30 days money back guarantee, and if anyone receives the chair faulty we will replace it without askign any question.

That $1600 Salli chair is handcrafted in Finland. Comes with 10 years warranty. That chair would be much more comfortable for you than the $900.

Anyway, I do apologize for all the inconvenience.

Omg!! Wow! I have been fantasizing about buying this chair for about a year!! I'm so happy to hear that it works for you.

I've used a plastic posture seat - a "Sitsmart" by Backjoy." Lightweight, easy to carry around so I always have a hard seat that allows me to sit on my sits bones. (I'm 5'5", 150-120# over the 8yrs I've used it). I cannot ride in a car without it.

I've been wanting something that supports my posture similarly but tilts so I'm not folded up putting pressure on my lower abdomen. I think it might work...

I don't have the $ to do this but if it allows me to work for longer stretches, it will pay for itself! Saving my duckets & crossing my fingers!!
