TENS Unit

Post by Hiking Spider »

Has anyone had a physical therapist use a Tens unit on you? What was your experience?

Yesterday I went to physical therapy and she used a TENS unit on me. She put the pads on my upper butt and lower back to cover the sacrum area. Then she turned on the machine and raised the dial. It created so much pain in the nerve. The pain wasn't near any of the pads, it was lower, you guys know where. It must have followed the nerve path. She lowered the dial as low as it would go, till the pain subsided. I think she was shocked to see that happen. She just said, well we definitely know its a nerve. Afterwards I had a lot of pain for the rest of the day. I tried icing it as much as possible to no avail. Still in a lot of pain today.

Has this happened to anyone else?
