There has been an unfortunate loss of Dr. Gordon's presence at the Wasser Clinic due to a serious complaint made against him to the CPSO. There will be a hearing in the Fall of 2018 and a letter of support was written by some of his long time patients based on our own positive experiences. Many others like me were appreciative of his expertise and patience during helpful consultations when few other doctors had any awareness of hard to treat painful conditions like pudendal neuralgia.

The intention of the letter was for the CPSO to be made aware that he helped a lot of patients. There are less options to turn to in Dr. Gordon's absence, many patients have simply been discharged and left without suitable alternative care options. I personally don’t know of anyone who had an unprofessional or harming type of experience with Dr. Gordon other than the complainant now before the CPSO. While it is important for those who come forward with negative experiences to be heard it is equally important to adjudicate fair treatment of the outcome.

I haven’t been on this site for a long time but just realized that it is now 20 years since I made the pilgrimage to France in 2004 in search of the a remedy for the pain I was experiencing as a result of a hysterectomy back in 2000. I was a patient of Dr Gordon in a pain clinic at Mount Sinai and was horrified to read about his troubles. He was quite a character but I never thought that he had a dark side to him. I always found him friendly, a little frustrating as he didn’t keep to a strict time schedule but he would always give his patients enough time to have a quality conversation with him and he had a good sense of humour.
I don’t know if anyone remembers me but I remember meeting Amanda and several other people from many different countries. I was living in Canada at the time and had been invited to a wedding in the UK so I was killing 2 birds with one stone. I’m now living in the UK and still suffering from the same pain problem. Unfortunately since returning to this country I have been taken off 2 of my 3 medications which kept my symptoms under control but now I have virtually no pain free time and I’m not getting any younger and less able to cope with the stress.
I even sought an appointment with a pain specialist in a private clinic but that was a total waste of time and money. I’ve seen many pain specialists over the years but have never encountered such a complete lack of empathy which would seem to be especially necessary with pain patients. The situation in the UK seems that we should be able to ‘think ourselves’ out of the pain and quite frankly I do not believe that theory

I'm sorry to hear you are still fighting pain. It seems like a lot of people in the UK and Canada are having difficulty finding care right now. I completely agree with you that you can't think yourself out of this kind of pain.

I'm sorry to hear you are still fighting pain. It seems like a lot of people in the UK and Canada are having difficulty finding care right now. I completely agree with you that you can't think yourself out of this kind of pain.
