Surgery

If you have the decompression surgery and get no relief but surgical notes say nerve entrapped by thickened ligaments, was the pain from entrapment or not?

Thickened ligaments would not necessarily mean your pain was due to nerve entrapment. It could have been entrapment but you may have developed scar tissue after surgery, you may have permanent nerve damage, you might have something else going on in addition or instead of entrapment, or you could have neuroplasticity.

Have you had an MRI since to see if there is any scar tissue?

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Yes. Had 2 MRI's with DR Potter in New York after redo surgery. Both said entrapped with scar tissue. Very upsetting!

Yes, that is upsetting, Jaxi. Some people tend to form a lot of scar tissue. It's pretty hard to deal with. You may need to consider pain management options if you haven't already tried them -- like neurostimulation. Can't remember what all you have tried, Jaxi.

Has anyone else had the decompression surgery and got NO relief, yet your surgical notes said the nerve was entrapped and freed up?

I do not understand why I had no relief after surgery and no treatments offer relief.

Anyone else on the same boat as I am?
