DRG insurance codes

Post by Kit »

If you are considering trying a DRG (Dorsal Root Ganglion) neuro-stimulator for relieveing your pudendal nerve pain, and are applying for insurance coverage,
the codes that my surgeon used may be helpful.

63650 implant neuro-electrodes
63685 implant neuro-receiver
77003 fluero-guidance
65090 implant leads
77002 needle localization with xray
95971 analyze impulses

My insurance was Medicare, with a Plan F copay, so I paid 0$ for the implant and the trial.

My surgeon is Dr. Jolene Smith at Pain Specialists of Iowa. She provided the codes in hope that it may help someone else.
Kit Male age 74 Sitting pains started 10/2003. I have had about 14 years of pudendal nerve pain, including 3 surgeries by Ansell, Filler, and Hibner. None did any good. But finally, I discovered the DRG (dorsal root ganglion) neurostimulator. It was implanted on Dec 28, 2017. It has been a miracle to me. My quality of life has improved 95%, and reduced the pain by about 60%. Anyone with Pudendal pain should consider a DRG neurostimulator.
