Alcohol. No, seriously.

Not trying to be funny or sound like a drunk but does anyone else get pain relief from tossing back a few drinks? I know many can't because of pain meds and others simply choose not to drink, but for those who do imbibe do you get relief? I get pretty consistent pain relief from alcohol, sometimes lasting well into the next day. Maybe some effect it has on the nervous system? Other thoughts?

I don't take regular medication, so I don't have to worry about mixing meds with alcohol.
Yes, I have found a glass or two of wine to help my pain. It must have a muscle relaxant effect.

To be honest here, I drink a couple of glasses of wine with dinner along with the pain meds and they seem to work well together, at least for me.

It TOOOOOTALLY helps me. Have no idea why! I never was into drinking much before... a glass of wine a month or so... but now I do have it a few times a week. Maybe it should become a nightly ritual!

It definitely helps me too. I was not much of a drinker before this because I'm such a lightweight and it always made me tired and sleepy. But, I noticed early on in this pain journey that a glass of wine or a margarita really helped take the edge off the pain. I've even learned what kind of red wine is my favorite

Beer. Yummy, delicious, soothing beer works for me. I have 1 or 2 a night while I'm cooking and I do find it very relaxing!
Cheers!!!!!!!

Absolutely - I've always enjoyed my adult beverage of choice, but now more than ever. In fact, I'm drinking way too much - but that's OK - gotta die someway right? The only problem with the excess drinking is that at times it does worsen the depression even more.

Alcohol is a central nervous system depressant. It also causes vasodilation (dilation of the blood vessels). Maybe that's why it helps relieve your pain?

Alcohol makes my pain way way worse. When I was symptom free for two weeks drinking brought it back. Never again.
