Has anyone had good results from this now being done in Phoenix?

I thought in Phoenix they were doing pulsed radio frequency ablation and not cryoablation. Have they changed? As far as I knew Dr. Prologo was one physician I knew doing cryoablation.

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if cryoablation-(I'm not exactly sure what that is,)
Is being done the NJ, NY, Metro area?
Or pulsed radio frequency?
My pain doc is pretty good, but wants to stick with one thing at a time,
which for now is the Pain pump. I'm not sure for various reasons how much it's helping
me so I'm always interested in other options as well,
if can get him to consider it. When I try to bring up these things he always goes back to
the "one thing at time idea". I understand but want to make sure I'm doing all I can.
Thanks for any info.
Kathy

PRF is being done for pudendal pain at the University of Maryland. I think it is part of a study. The radiologist is Dr. Howard Richard.

Jaxi, is this the Iovera brand cryo treatment you're talking about? I know that's been done on a couple nearby nerves (ilioinguinal and genitofemoral?) with good results but haven't heard of it being done on pudendal yet. Is it Hibner's office you're talking about?

Dr. Prologo does cryoablation of the pudendal nerve and he is at Emory. I know one individual who went to him and they are doing very well. They have been slowly weaning off their medications and able to increase sitting times. Not cured but huge improvement.

Good to know that Dr. Kay is now doing cryoablation. When I asked Dr. Hibner if they would do cryoablation as I did not want to try PRF he said he didn't think so because the hospital had just invested all the money in the PRF equipment but that was maybe 2 years ago when I talked with Dr. Hibner about it.

Can anyone report having seen Dr Prologo at Emory? He has performed over 50 pudendal cryoablations.

Cryoablation kills the nerve so how does the patient control bodily functions( going to the bathroom)??
