I've had PNE for 38 years. It would take volumes to explain what I have been through but I finally diag. myself 8 years ago after blacking out in a Dr. office during a prostate exam. He diag. me with non bacterial prostatitis. I came home to see why I passed out from the pain of the exam and turned on the computer to find out why. I found out that I had all the symptoms of PNE and had been to the most famous pain clinics. Not one had any idea why I hurt in the places I described and they all blamed it on my prior back surgery. They were all wrong. Probably about 50 doctors in total. Anyway I went to Dr. antolak, then the guy in New Hampshire, and finally to Dr. Hibner and had trans glut surgery. He said my lig. had actually cut down into the nerve and he couldn't get it out due to all the scar tissue, so he cut it in two and spliced it back together. He said he was afraid that due to the extreme damage to the nerve I might not get better. Well he was right. That was 6 yrs. ago and I am in tremendous pain still. I've been taking such huge doses of pain meds. I am now seeing if there is a SCS that can be installed or something. I also broke my back 40 years ago and have had spinal stenosis for years. What a mess but it is good to see there might be some new ideas for me to glean from this site.
