Groin, pubis, perineum pain. PN or ilio inguinal

Post by franz »

Hi everyone, I'm a 24 years old french man ( please try to don't hate me too much, but i can accept a little bit of racism, you know, baguette, tour eiffel, they dont know what soap means, etc ... ^^).

My story began years ago when i used to ride my bycicle everyday. During 3 years i used to bear pain in my penis and my pubis. After many doctors i found the good one and stop the bicycle. I have been diagnosed with a proper EMG ( you know electric stuff in your ass and perineum. The pain disappeared and any kind of pbs during 4 years.

But two months ago, i felt pain in my perineum after being sit a long time. And the pain grown in my pubis and my groin in both sides ( left and right) . I feel the pain the morning and it's painfull to walk because it burns in those parts of my anatomy plus in my inner thight. I dont have pain in my ass, or back.

I gonna see some skillful doctor very soon but i really want to know if the PN may cause those pains ( burn pains) or an ilio inguinal neurologia ( it really fits my pain anatomy ) parts altought i never had surgical operation in my childhood and any kind of inguinal hernia or back problems.

I someone knows something about those pains, and may enlight me... ( I apologize concerning my english and mistakes ... Don't hate me ! ) ^^

Franz,
welcome and sorry for your struggles. I cannot comment as my instance was the "pain in the ass" type! Have you seen a physical.therapist that is pn-aware, they helped with my diagnosis and if a muscle problem can also help with that. There is a list off the homepage but not sure what is close to you. There are PN doctors listed in the french section of this forum. Hang in the and we do not hate you!

It's so nice to you to reply. Yes im aware about solutions, etc, but this post is precisely to obtain some testimonies about similar pains and the way they ( the people) fight them.

And by the way, i'm trying to not hate you being american... ^^( it sometimes works)

2002 PN pain started following a fall on a wet marble floor
2004 Headache in the pelvis clinic. Diagnosed with PNE by Drs. Jerome Weiss, Stephen Mann, and Rodney Anderson
2004-2007 PT, Botox, diagnosed with PNE by Dr. Sheldon Jordan
2010 MRN and 3T MRI showing PNE. Diagnosed with PNE by Dr. Aaron Filler. 2 failed PNE surgeries.
2011-2012 Horrific PN pain.
2013 Experimented with various Mind-body modalities
3/2014 Significantly better
11/2014 Cured. No pain whatsoever since

Yes, I have been on pudendalsite. You read the same sad stories and lack of positive outcome.
There seems to be quite a bit of (self?) censorship as the doctors must not be named and are only referred as Dr.R or Dr.B. I do not know if it is the result of strongly worded letters the doctors sent to the the pudendalsite moderators.

You can read on that forum that there is a third team lead by Dr.De Bisschop in Martigues with a different decompression technique. They use a probe with a balloon that they inflate to create space for the nerve.

Hi Franz,

Yes, I had some similar pain -- with pain in the perineum, especially where the leg and the perineum meet. I also had a lot of inner thigh burning. I think the inner thigh burning was partly associated with the obturator internus muscle being in spam from the pudendal nerve irritation. The inner thigh burning is completely gone now.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

If you have nerve blocks with each nerve injected separately on separate occasions that might help in the diagnosis. For instance if you have the ilioinguinal blocked one time, the genitofemoral blocked at at different time, and the pudendal blocked another time, that would make more sense than having them all blocked on the same day. If you have several different nerves blocked all at once I don't think that would be very helpful with the diagnosis.
