Sitting increases risk of colon and endometrial cancer

Post by nyt »

Saw this yesterday and thought this is one less thing we have to worry about if we have PN. There is at least some positive that we stand all the time :D .

Researchers led by Germany’s Univ. of Regensburg found that sitting increased the risk of colon cancer by 8%, regardless of the sitter’s physical activity level. The new review of previous studies also found that the risk of women being diagnosed with endometrial cancer jumped by 10% with each 2-hour increase in sitting time per day.

NYT, did they mention any theory as to why? Maybe I should start standing more again.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
