Anyone have Neurosensory Testing with the Pressure Specified Sensory Device developed by Dr. Dellon? I know there has been discussion about him on the forum. I have just started communicating with him via email looking for more information on what nerves he can test. I have more than just PN so looking to try and figure out all my neuropathies and what additional surgery options I should consider if any.
He also had a publication on the use of 3T MRN and correlated with surgical findings. This is the type of publication we need with PN surgeries correlated with 3T MRIs by Dr. Potter.

Re: Pressure Specified Sensory Device
Below is the response from Dr. Dellon regarding some of my questions. This is in response to several different emails.
"ok
this is about all I can do with you by email
I believe the trocar did damage the ilioinguinal nerve
the PSSD can determine the obturator and lateral femoral
I have not used it to test the clitoris but it can theoretically do this
we have no normative data on the perineum or rectal areas so I would not use it to test for those
the operative note says one obturator nerve was tethered externally, and I can free that one
so I would approach you first with you on your back, and work on removing the nerves injured by the trocar, the ilioinguinal nerve at least, and neurolysis the obturator nerve
the office visit fee is $600 cpt code 99245 and the neurosensory testing code would be 95937, done four times, $75 x 4 = 300 to test the obturator and lateral femoral cutaneous territories."
Maybe at some point he would be willing to collect normative data on the pudendal branch. I see Dr. Howard in a couple of weeks and will discuss this with him. I have spent a small fortune and need to be careful about where I spend my money. Because Dr. Dellon is out-of-network I might just consider having the testing done and have someone in-network perform the surgery ie ilioinguinal.
Hope this helps anyone else considering seeing Dr. Dellon.

NYT,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you a Dr. Hibner patient, too?
Thanks for the info on Dellon.

Re: Pressure Specified Sensory Device
I'm confused. I thought Dellon didn't accept insurance?
Ultra Sound in 03/08 showed severely retroverted, detaching uterus with mulitple fibroids and ovarian cysts.
Pressure and pain in lower abdomen and groin area was unspeakable and devastating.
Total lap hysterectomy in 06/08, but damage was already done.
EMG testing in NH in 04/10 - bilateral PN and Ilioinguals
3T MRI at HSS, NY in 09/10
Bilateral TG surgery with Dr. Conway on 03/29/11. Bilat ilioinguinal & iliohypogastric neurectomy 03/12. TCD surgery 04/14.

Re: Pressure Specified Sensory Device
I am a patient of Dr. Hibner's and Dr. Howard's but I have multiple neuropathies and am looking for a way to try and narrow down which nerves I should have surgery on and which one's I should not, and minimize the number of nerve blocks. Also, for additional surgeries beyond pudendal I need ie ilioinguinal, genitofemoral, a different approach for the obturator nerve, or femoral decompression surgery I am looking to see if there are other surgeons I might want to perform those surgeries instead of Dr. Hibner or Dr. Howard. Dr. Dellon does not accept insurance which really means they don't bill your insurance company for you and they will be out-of-network for everyone, you pay upfront and then the individual is responsible for submitting the paperwork to the insurance company for reimbursement. Didn't mean to add any confusion.

Karyn, he doesn't accept insurance but he is giving the codes so that she can check with the insurance company to see how much they would reimburse her.

Re: Pressure Specified Sensory Device
I have an appointment with Dr. Dellon on Feb. 22nd for PSSD testing for the lateral femoral cutenous terrorities and obturator nerve. I asked him about the ilioinguinal nerve but he did not respond. I also plan on asking him if he plans on getting normal values for the pudendal nerve in woman. I'll post my results and experience the end of Feb.

Re: Pressure Specified Sensory Device
I haven't had any luck finding anyone to treat the ilioinguinal nerve, so I would be interested in what you find out Good luck with Dr. Dellon.
