Hi
I am wondering if our most comfortable sitting positions are all common or if differences might show where we are entrapped.
Positions that lesson my pain partially are as follows:
Cross Legged / Indian Style
Knees up to Chest
Leaning to one side.
Leaning Forward extremely, with elbows on knees, feet on ground. (this one, is the one I'm wondering about. Does this provide some relief? Or not? If I am alone in this with other dorsal nerve entrapment patients, then maybe it means something. While the relief it provides is small, I find I do this as one of my coping mechanisms.)
Obviously, the best bet is laying 100% flat. Even laying slouched on my sacrum flares me, or laying with my back tilted to look at stuff flares me immediately.
By the way, I have a sitting tolerance as follows, sorta:
1 minute - pain level 6
5 minutes - pain level 8
30 minutes - pain level 9
60 minutes - nearly intolerable torture, impossible.
Position shifting lowers the pain a few degrees temporarily, and delays needing to stand, which

Re: do comfy sitting positions show where entrapped?
Hi pianogal - I am new on here but used to be on the old pudendal.info. Anyway, I saw this old postof yours. I find the most comfortable position to be when I'm sitting on a toilet leaning slightly forward. I have groin pain and this helps with that as well as with the sitting pain. Lying down flat on my back is a big no-no for me. I don't know if my dorsal nerve is affected or not. Is that what your problem is and if so, how did you find out it was? Hoping you are doing better now than when you wrote this post.
