went to the PT today and she said sounds like some kinda pudendal entrappemt issue..i have found a pudendal specialist here in ohio and have a appt the end of the month! hoping they can help me..otherwise i will have to travel out of state because there is only 1 dr here that deals with this!! the PT didnt do alot of excersises because of the amount of time it took for me to explain to her what all my symptoms were ,but what she did do was alot of relaxing excersies!! said the pelvis is SO tight and needs to be relaxed. she also said that my back could be playing into this as well!!
so i will start a weekly routine with her in july ,but still going to the PN specialist for more tests and possiably a dianoisis??
wish more drs knew about PN and really wondering why they dont??
1st PT appt!!
Re: 1st PT appt!!
Glad your appointment went well, Mom! Typically, when you go to pelvic floor PT, they don't have you do a lot of exercises. Mostly, it's gentle stretching and/or myofacial releases. Have you had a recent MRI of your lower lumber spine? Which PN specialist in your area are you considering consulting with?
Kind regards,
Karyn

Hi Mom,
Glad to hear your appointment was worth it and hopefully now you are on the right track for the right treatments!
Please let us know what you think of the doc at Cleveland Clinic. In the past we've had other patients from Ohio wonder who to go to.
Best,
Violet

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Re: 1st PT appt!!
the dr here was very knowledgable on pudendal neuralgia and spent almost an hr explaining it to me! she said that it more than likey happened due to all of the excersise's i was doing...i was QUEEN of zumba, loved spinning and a power pump class..she said with my discs being slipped it more than likely caused the chain of events..hoping that the PT and trigger point injections she wants to do help me!! im SO glad i found someone here in my area that treats this!!

Great to hear, Mom.
If things go well for you, I'm sure other Ohio patients would like to hear of a doc in Ohio who treats this.
