Logical. I think I will try it.

I got this and was not impressed. If anything it caused more tension on my poor pudendal nerve.
Good luck.

Since I have rectal pain I bought one of these. Altering the position to more of a squat for
BM has given me some relief from spasms after BM.

I am told it is better to just lean over as much as you can when taking a dump, no stool.
Re: Squatty potty as constipation prevention/cure?
I found the squatty potty very helpful and have one in our bathroom. Other culturals squat when they defecate and the squatty potty helps gets you in a better position. I find because I am not real tall that the higher toilet seats my feet don't even touch the ground , that makes things problematic. For me, it was worth the investment and I hate when I need to "go" and I'm not home. I think I'm addicted to my "squatty potty."

Re: Squatty potty as constipation prevention/cure?
I use a squatty potty and find it helpful, although I did start off with buying too high a model; the position it put me in put too much pressure and tension on the tissues around my anus, what with my backside poking further through the toilet seat and pressing more against inner sides of the toilet seat. The 7" replacement that I've now got I find to be plenty high enough. (The taller you are and the lower your toilet is, the more you might prefer a lower height squatty potty.) Also, for anyone interested in buying one, I would suggest getting the plastic version rather than the white painted wood, as I found that the latter chips easily and can get rather nasty - whereas the plastic version is much more durable and can be easily cleaned (albeit that some might feel that the plastic is aesthetically less pleasing).

I bought a step stool at Walmart and keep in next to the toilet. Works just as well and costs less than half the price at $9.98. I use it with every bowel movement.

Re: Squatty potty as constipation prevention/cure?
I can not remember where I saw the video recently.
It showed people taking a bm, and for the first time they were able to do a sonogram or Mri or something similar.
They showed different methods of having a bm, one was using the stool.
There conclusion was that leaning forward offered the best passage of stools.
I am not trying to be contradictory.
