I'm new to the forum and feeling increasingly isolated. Thanks to all of you for your participation. After 3 years of symptoms and many doctors, blocks, PT, steroid injections and Botox, I am finally accepting that I have PN. I don't know if I should go to Houston or Dr. Hibner for a dx. It seems the stats aren't that great for surgery. As I decide what to do next, has anyone had success with a zero-gravity chair or a kneeler chair?

I haven't tried a zero gravity chair and kneeling didn't work well for me but I've seen other people post who did have success with these. With the kneeling chair you have to limit how much time you spend kneeling because your knees can start to complain after awhile but I know one gal who really liked hers for eating meals.

Thanks Violet. I've just ordered a $69 zero gravity chair and will post the results. When I saw Dr. Hibner he said a friend who is an anesthiologist has PNE and is in his chair all day. I wondered why his friend didn't opt for surgery, but I didn't have the presence of mind to ask. It makes me leary of surgery though.

Zero gravity chair helps me only if I place another pillow under my calfs. ( A fat pillow) and then a donut beneath the bum. Nothing comes easy,

Hi Folks,
Can you tell me what website or store you can buy the zero gravity chair from?
Currently I can't at all either, but am willing to try anything in order to be able to sit briefly for meals with family or at social occasions. If the side of my right butt cheek at anal opening touches... pain begins,..But Im willing to risk it for my sanity ..
also trying to think of some adaptation that for the time being can get me driving.. Go buggy staying at home or waiting for hubby to drive me somewhere.. sure you guys understand.

Kathy, you can do a google search for zero gravity chairs -- along with the name of your city if you want to buy it locally. Amazon has a bunch of different ones.

Its seems that there are many variations of the zero gravity chair..
I have A "relax the back" catalog for instance that shows some of them..
They seems to cost in 1000.00 or above range... Just trying one out in the store for a minute starts up the pain, for now.

Its the kind of thing that one must try and see if they can sit in it. ...As I imagine some part of you has to bear the body's weight., and touch the chair.

If I could only keep my anus up (for lack of a better word) it may work for me... Prior to anal pain, I could perch on my hip, or one one butt cheek, but now even that somehow pushes in on the anal area and I get pain on contact which lasts after I get up... rebound etc

Anyone with thobbing anal pain try a zero gravity chair, or find an adaptation that allows them to drive?..

Although I may not exactly say my anal pain is throbbing my pain is anal. I could not use thezero gravity more I think due to angle I was sitting than contact. For driving the turgo airgo cushion worked. That cushion did not work on other chairs so I still use one I made for shorter sitting and moving about. Long term sitting I got roho cushions I use one my old and got a new wheelchair. Old for work new for home. The wheelchair also is because of chronic foot pain.

Thanks Janet for your cushion suggestions will check into them..
My area and type of pain makes it hard for any cushion to work as the pressure of my weight on the surface starts the pain.. and I am very tiny... docs think it to be neuropathic..
