Anyone have a PT use ultrasound with him/her? My PT told me that ultrasound generates heat and can be healing to the nerve. So, she's using it as treatment. Anyone have any success with this?

Yes, I have a unit. It is not a cure for sure. It can help a little bit. There is a fine line however between helping and overdoing it which upsets the nerve. You have to try different settings. But again, don't expect miracles and while finding the best setting, it can temporarily increase symptoms.

Just saw this was presented at the IPPS conference last month. It's called PainShield and is a portable ultrasound device. Here's more info about it. Sounds interesting. http://www.kevmed.com/index.html

I had it done to me for a few sessions at PT, and it seemed to make me a little worse - although based on what ezer said I assume I might have got more out of it if I had stuck with it. Definitely not a cure IMO.
