Anyone had experience with Botox?

Hi folks,

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with botox injections and, if so, would be willing to share your experience.

I understand that Dr. Hibner often recommends it but it is not covered by my insurance and I only know one person who became incontinent after botox. I would just like to gather all the info I can before seeing Dr. Hibner just in case.

Thank you :)
Grace

Dr. Hibner is a big proponent of botox. I had botox injections done by him when he did a sling removal 7 weeks ago. Because I had another procedure done at the same time my experience might be different than someone who only had botox done. For me I could tell when the botox kicked in, about 8-9 days after surgery because my urinary incontinence got worse. My regular gyn check two spots on my pelvic floor for tenderness about 2 weeks ago and they didn't hurt at all but about 15 minutes after he was done I started with increase in pain. The botox did not help my PNE symptoms. My incontinence is starting to improve so I believe the botox is most likely wearing off but pain wise I can't tell the difference.

Dr. Hibner does not ask for pre approval from insurance companies for the botox. He said he only has had 2 individuals that the botox was denied because it was done under anesthesia.

Good luck with your decision.
