Hi Helen :)
What has Dr Antolak said? I have no experience about him, sorry although have an idea that he is expensive? Have you had some PN blocks, if so what happened?
I do know that others have had treatment by Dr Antolak and I'm sure they will respond.
Take care,
Helen

I had test done by Dr Antolak when he puts some strip in anus and it shows that my left side is affected. I had MRN done in Dayton, OH. This is interpreted by Dr Filler. MRN shows PN irritated in area of pereformis.I had internal PT done. I had chiropractic treatment done by chiropractor that said that my left side is assymetric and my muscles are shorter on left. I had 5 injections done locally in Detroit. And 4 in Minnesota by Dr Antolak. This week I pick my stuff from work and say farewell to my work. My long term disability company cut me off and I am looking for lawyer.
I would do operation but I have mixed feelings about Dr Antolak reading this blog.
Has anyone had success with him?
My med student daughter in MN is saying that half of her professors is saying he is geneous and half that he is coo coo.
I think may be it is better to go to France, or to doctor Ansell, or to doctor Hibner.

Any thoughts?

About pricing. Most of treatments so far was covered by B cross. It is quite reasonable.

Oh, we all know just how confusing the whole thing can be. It's a minefield of complicated emotions, difficult decisions and desperation.
I have nothing to offer with regard to your surgery, sorry.
Were your injection into the piriformis muscle ? and did they work ?
Got to add a note of caution re Dr Filler, in that he is famed for a piriformis diagnosis. However if your muscles are clearly asymmetrical that does add extra weight to a piriformis diagnosis. I had the same diagnosis from Dr Filler by the way and think he was spot on. His diagnosis has been confirmed by my current pain doctor too.
Have you had any botox injections into your piriformis? I have (hurt like hell) but it did take the piriformis pain away on the worst affected side for a good while. Unfortunately for me it didn't do anything for the nerve pain, as due to a fall and subsequent haematoma in the p muscle (egg shaped hard lump for 3-4 months after fall) scar tissue must have developed. Unfortunately my sciatic nerve goes through the p muscle.
How did your problems start? Did the PT on the piriformis do any good at all?
Sorry to ask all of these question but 'history' does play an important part in all of this.

I was on vacation in France in 2010. All of the sudden I started to experience perennial pain and burning. I waited till I get back to US and called my doctor from airport. She ordered antibiotics. No help. I went to urologists, genecologists with no success. One of them suggested IC and sent me to IC specialist. No success. I went to Dr Peters who specializes in vulvodenia and he prescribed internal PT. No success. I read about MRN and went to OH to make it. It shown PNE on left side. Since once I had babesia (it is like lime disease) I went to infectionist that is specializing on nerve damaging infection to see if I have dormant babesia. He said I was clean and told me to go to neurologist. I went to one and on MRI they found lower back disk damage. Next theory was that it all was related to disk damage and they sent me to external PT. At the same time I went to Dr Antolak to work on my PN. Injections gave limited 3 to 4 weeks success. Now he is about to consider operation but I do not know who is the best. This complex and unusual operation and I want to find the best doctor

Injections were in pereformis. But I do not have any pereformis pain. One injection on the left was into one of genetal branches of nerve and on done in Detroit into posterior fermoral cutenious nerve.
