Another Dr that Reads Pudendal 3-T MRI

Post by MNMom »

Last week I had a 3-T MRI done on my pelvis at CDI Radiology in St Louis Park, MN. I had called in advance to let them know Dr Potter's office would be sending them instructions on how to read the image using her protocol. To my surprise they already were familiar with the protocol and said they would be using it.

After the read was done I was disappointed to learn the radiologist doing my read was their Breast Imaging Specialist and not one of the Neuroradiologists. My Drs office called yesterday and the MRI came back "normal". I have a CD of the images and I would like to get a second opinion, and since Dr Potter doesn't read images unless the MRIs are done at her facility I am not sure where to turn.

Has anyone had success with another radiologist other than Dr Potter being able to identify pudendal nerve irregularities ? I googled it without any luck.

Thanks,

Dr. Olga Kalinkin at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix (same hospital Hibner practices at) reads 1.5T MRI's with contrast for PNE. I don't know if she would or could look at an outside film, but you could contact her. The radiology department is (602) 406-3430. However, she often doesn't see the same findings that Potter does. I wish Dr. Potter could help other doctors see what she sees. I can't help but doubt the accuracy of her findings a little.

Thanks, Faith. It's worth a shot for me to see if she has any other comments in general. At least I know she has done this before and knows what to look for. The read I currently have is very vague.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
