Hello All,

I have a friend that had surgery with Dr. Conway in September. He took Maine Care (Maine's form of Medicare) in an attempt to help her. Now Dr. Conway has dropped Maine Care and she can't get a referral from him so she can see Dr. Quesada for Pain Management. She can't get a referral from him so she can go to any pain management doctor.

She saw a PT twice...that is all she is allowed. The PT that she saw suggested exercises that put her in even more pain. Now she's certain that she's further entrapped. I have tried to talk to her on those subjects but I'm failing. My friend is in horrible pain  and I'm truly afraid of what she might do. She's has given up. And I only know her through my computer but she really needs help. Maine Care just overwhelms her. Please send hope and help.

Kate

Does anyone know of a pain management doctor in Maine that is familiar with pudendal pain? She went to one that gave her a few vicodan and then said he didn't know what else to do for her.

Hi Kate,
It could be me, but ... Seems like something is missing. I don't understand why Dr. Conway can't refer your friend, as her surgeon. I would think the bigger question would be: Does Dr. Q take Maine Care insurance?
My heart goes out to her. I hope she's able to find someone soon!
Best of regards,
Karyn

Hi Karyn,

Dr. Quesada used to take Maine Care. He had done several blocks on this lady before her surgery. I don't know about now. Doctors who do this surgery, do the surgery and then, no more. I can't really get any help from Dr. Hibner. He did a great job and then that's it. He might give me a referral, maybe.

Medicine is running out of time, money, and capable, caring people.

Kate

Kate, I'm sorry to hear that you don't feel like you get any further help from Dr. Hibner after the surgery. I know several of his patients have felt pretty upset because he never did follow-up after surgery. For me, I have found him more than helpful since my surgery and have been back for treatments by him. I have changed my surgery date to Sept. and will be going back for more botox injections, not sure when yet. But personally, if I call they have been great about getting me in.
