Has anyone had ultra sound treatments for muscle spasms or tendinitis?
I stumbled across this site, offering portable, home units, but have no idea if they work or not ...

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! :P

Rechbill on Tipna was just highly recommending them; he says feels it has helped him.

Check it out on Amazon. It is only $55.00. A few reviews that you might find helpful.

Thanks, Celeste! Would you happen to know if he had treatments by a PT, or does he have a home unit?

Thanks, NYT! I was really hoping to hear from community members about their experience. I don't recall hearing much about it here, though.

He had a home unit and bought his online, but a PT recommended it so it's possible he had office treatments with it first.

I had some decent improvement back last year when my PN pain first got bad (of course all my gains have since been lost) with ultrasound in PT. I talked to my PT about getting a home ultrasound machine and she thought it probably couldn't hurt. I don't think it would be as powerful as what you can get in PT obviously and you have to be careful because you should only use ultrasound for a certain amount of time then you are supposed to stop for a while so as not to damage tissues. You could probably find out more about this online or perhaps with the machine. It's something I am still considering purchasing so if you have good success please let me know!

I had some ultrasound treatments from a PT that helped with muscle pain but not neuropathic pain. Never tried a home unit though.

I too have had ultrasound for muscular issues via a physio treatment centre, to use it at home would need to know exactly where to use it etc...some areas are hard to reach especially with PN regions. Please let us know how you get on!

Well, I was hoping for a bit more feedback from our group. Gee, with all of the modalities we've tried, I wonder why this hasn't come up more?
I quess my biggest concern is (from what I understand), the treatment is supposed to be done in small areas of the body, using a circular motion. I wasn't able to find out what exactly constitues a "small area". Everything from the top of the waist down (front & back) to the feet is a problem for me. Geez, it would take me HOURS just to work my way down from the lateral iliac crest to my ankles on one side! Sounds like a full time job!! :? Maybe I'm blowing this way out of proportion. Or maybe this type of therapy is best for one area of localized pain? I dunno .... I think I'll wait a while more to see if I can get more information.
Thanks for your replies, everyone! :P
