Autonomic dysreflexia

I think that many of us have experienced the pain associated with being unable to empty the bladder. Although it is very unpleasant it is not life threatening in itself, and is easily dealt with by catheterisation. And yes, the pain can cause sweating and nausea.

I would just like to point out that this is not autonomic dysreflexia, though. That is a medical emergency, it is associated with spinal cord injuries at chest level (T6) and above, and is very rare with injuries lower than that. So for those of us with PN problems, this is absolutely not usually going to be an issue - unless, of course, there is a cord injury further up the spine.
