Mammogram Scare
Mammogram Scare
I have said to several individuals on this forum via PM's and on the phone that no matter how devastating PNE is it is "Life altering and NOT life threatening." Last week I had a suspicious finding on my mammogram and had to have additional views done yesterday. Thankfully it turned out to be nothing but all week I thought about my previous quote. All of a sudden all the focus I have on Ketamine treatments and getting well from chronic pain really had a new meaning to me while I was thinking about what I would do if my mammogram was really something to worry about ie breast cancer. Just really gives you a whole new perspective on things.

Re: Mammogram Scare
Well heck yeah, who wouldn't be scared if they had cancer! Some of them are really insidious. But on the other hand, there's no such thing as a doctor who doesn't know what cancer is, and you can get everything you need for it pronto. In other words, it's a "normal" problem to have, and people pretty much know how to behave when you have it. PNE, other chronic pain...not so much!!!!
Very glad your mammo was just a false alarm.

PNE as a result of childbirth, 2002. Treatment by the Houston team, with neurosurgery by Dr. Ansell in 2004. My left side ST and SS ligaments were found to be grown together, encasing the pudendal nerve.
I am cured. I hope you will be, too.
There are no medical answers on the forum. Your only hope is to go to a doctor. I was very happy with the Houston team, which has treated the most PNE patients (well over 400), more than any other US provider.

Re: Mammogram Scare
Very glad too nyt,
I had a similar thing happen to me 2 years ago. I honestly wasn't extensively bothered, I don't mean to sound flippant but it needed a double check that was all. As Celeste said, they invited me back in quickly, they all knew exactly what they were doing. My husband kept holding my hand ?? and 'looking' at me. . . . .The procedure I had to have did hurt (didn't like it) but everything was fine, as I knew it would be.
Two other ladies I had spoken to while there were not so lucky, I have to admit. As we left I said, if only they would take my bum pain this seriously.
