Anyone know what the technique is for this? I would like to give something to my PT about it. Seems it would be important to try to release it from scar tissue if possible.
I saw an old thread but I still am not sure how to do it (RJR --- did you mean we lie on our stomach?)

I do my nerve glides laying on my side with a pillow between my legs and one under my head. This is a very dumbed down version of nerve glides but this is all I can do right now and if you are bad this is a good place to start.

1. With legs straight take top foot and slowly dorsiflex the foot. That means only take your toes and move them upwards.

2. With legs straight take top leg, dorsiflex the foot then bend at the knee bringing the heel towards your butt.

3. With legs bent at hip and knees (this would be like kneeling but you are laying on your side) straighten top leg.

Do each of the above 10 reps but only if you don't get a flare in pain for more than 15 minutes. If you get a flare longer than that then decrease the number of reps. At first I could only do exercise #1 on my surgical side of 3 reps but now I'm up to 10 reps twice a day for both legs :D . Now I know you all jealous at my athletic ability .
