Post by Grammy »

Please help me if you can. I suffer terribly from anxiety. Having all the failed surgeries --all the shots--everything I am just losing it. Please tell me what is working for you if you have anxiety and depression. I am sick to my tummy all the time it is so bad. I know that I need to accept my disorder and learn to live with it. doctors want to try a scs next and I just feel scared. PLEASE if something is working good for your anxiety and d epression will you write about it.

Hi Grammy - have you had the opportunity to try a course of CBT with a psychologist? This is what made the difference for me. I am in the UK so things will be a bit different, but my GP referred me and I was able to see someone at my local GP surgery, for both anxiety and depression, and for help with pain management. It has made a huge difference for me. Maybe this is something that might be worth a try?

Hi Grammy,
That sort of daily anxiety must be awful. Calluna has given you some good advice. Meanwhile, have you thought about telling your doctor how you're feeling and asking for some anti-anxiety medication to get you over the hump?
Pudendal neuralgia, diagosed as ischial bursitis, from 1985. Worsened by fall in 2003. Bilateral TG surgery in Nantes 2004. Nerve flattened both sides. No improvement, still cannot sit.

Grammy, so sorry to hear of this anxiety. Calluna has a great recommendation to try Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). It is an amazing treatment and I use it alot myself. Also, you might want to see if maybe one of your medications might be causing it or worsening any anxiety. I never suffered from anxiety in my entire life but as soon as I was started on antidepressants or serotonin uptake inhibitors I would wake up early in the morning with the beginning of anxiety attacks. It is an absolutely awful feeling. I knew though that it was caused by medication. I had to come off the medications because it was giving me heart problems and within a month of coming off these kinds of meds the anxiety was gone. For me, I find these medication helped my neuropathic pain but they really impacted my ability to cope with all my medical problems. I remember telling my family dr. one time that if I have to live with chronic pain they can't take away my ability to cope. Make sure you talk to your doctor about how you are feeling and get their thoughts. Don't wait on this. Call them today and see if you can move up your next appointment or get some help before your next appointment.
