Any discomfort after years of use of GelTec cushion!?

Hi everyone,

I wonder if some of you may have experienced some durability issues
with the GelTec Mercury cushion. I have had mine since summer 2006
and felt it was a comfortable and reliable cushion for relatively long drives,
up to 3 and 4 consecutive hours at times.. Now recently, I have been less
and less comfortable while driving... pain starting at the sit bone area..

I just made some long hours of driving and felt more and more pain
to my right sit bone with that cushion. Experienced using my best
donut cushion (Carex, very good and reliable by the way) and the
donut cushion proved to be more comfortable. This would not have
been the case 2 years ago and before..

I wonder if my condition has changed/evolved (medications less effective
as well over time!?) or if the cushion is simply less comfortable than 5 years ago,
especially since I have been using it at work (where I put it on top of a donut cushion)
as well since the Fall of 2008. !?
This "Intelli-gel" technology seems to be quite durable..

note:My weight has beenbetween 220 lbs and 290 lbs over those past 5 years..
