Greetings to you all.
In 1997 I began feeling pain in the pelvic region and that's when the nightmare began. I was mis-diagnosed by probably a hundred urologists
as having chronic prostititis. In 2005 I came across Dr. Antolak in Minnesota (where I'm from) and had PN decompression surgery in left side and a year later again on the right. I'm not as miserable as I was before I had the surgery but I am certainly not cured by any means. And like many of you, I can not sit with out a donut or cushion. I did have laser therapy last year. I made about 12 visits. I think it helped a little and it did stimulate the nerves to the point where I took long naps following the sessions but was short lived.
Unfortunately for me, it seems my history of pain has spawned a nervous/anxiety illness. (Fun!) Thankfully for that I found an incredible nervous/anxiety counselor in Aukland, New Zealand. I purchased his CD's and also had four very long phone conversations with him (which I was never billed for) and I can tell you he is the 'real-deal' in this department. One of the nicest human beings I have ever come across. I have learned so much about anxiety and the nervous system. The program has taught me the importance of 'acceptance'. I've noticed when I stress out about my pain condition all that does is flare it up worse. So when I put his program into practice the nerves begin to de-sensitize a bit. (By the way his name is David Johnson and his web site is www.healing-anxiety.com incase anyone's interested).
I was also wondering if anyone else here has been treated by Dr. Antolak.

Nice talking to you .
All the best,

Erik :D

Odin2, thank you for sharing this source. It takes special coping skills and learning techniques to live with chronic pain, in the end when we practice healthy techniques to deal with our pain we are better human beings. There is alot of published literature that addresses the mind-body connection regarding pain. The more we focus on the pain the worse the pain will become and the less our ability to cope. It takes time change how we think and address our pain but from my personal experience it is well worth the effort.

There are some on the board who have been seen by Dr. Antolek. I have not so I can not comment.
