On our old forum someone posted about an standing office chair that looks like the one on this page:

Does anyone remember where to get a chair like that?

The Stance chair maker went out of business. We had some people who were looking to see if used ones or warehouse stock were still available, but it was a dead end. The image you have still exists in Google, but there has been nothing in an existing product any time any of us have looked since then. It's all about elevated desks, or some kind of stool to perch on at a standing desk.

There is TOTALLY a market for this product, but maybe not as large as a manufacturer would like. Clearly it's not something you can sell to every household, but to the ones who need it, it's priceless.

That's a real shame because I could totally see myself using such a chair!

I am intrigued by this site, though. They formerly had a standing chair which is now unavailable...but their site says a new design is coming "soon". Maybe it's worth an inquiry?

Thanks a bunch, Celeste. I'll let the person who was inquiring about it know.

I called the supplier at the 800 number and he said that the manufacturer (unnamed) hadn't made the chair for two years, that the supplier receives many calls about the chair, that he has no idea when the manufacturer will resume production, and that a good place to find a chair might be eBay.

Wow, that's not really ethical of him to state that a new design is coming soon, then. I'm so sorry for the wild goose chase. It would be great if the seller would contact the manufacturer and tell him about all these calls he's getting about it to see if something could happen....oh well.
