Kaiser Pudendal Neuralgia Specialists?

I'm stuck in a Kaiser Medicare plan and with them being both the provider and the insurer, it's to their benefit to keep me seeing Kaiser doctors.

So far, Kaiser Gynecologists are all I've found who seem to know anything about pudendal neuralgia.

I finally got a referral accepted to see a Kaiser pain specialist, and he was great. He referred me to an experienced PT, but Kaiser only approved it for a place they have a relationship with, and their PT had zero experience treating men, she'd only taken a class. He ended up making my pain worse.

It's a Kaiser surgeon who is experienced with pudendal nerve decompression surgery that I need. Does anyone know of one, regardless of location?

I'm in Hawaii, so in-state options are really limited. The one name that keeps coming up here is Jonathan Carlson on Oahu. I'm in the Kona area. He's not with Kaiser, but I am trying to lay the groundwork for getting a referral. That means documenting my efforts to find a surgeon who works for Kaiser.

HI Jon,

I was on Kaiser the past few years (but have since switched to a different HMO), and they paid for me to do a video call with Hibner because they did not have a pn specialist to refer me to. (So, although Hibner doesn't take insurance (now), Kaiser reimbursed me for the appointment because they didn't have an alternative---if I had been on ppo, I think I would have had to pay out of pocket.) So, if Kaiser doesn't have a pn specialist, I thought they would send you to a non-Kaiser specialist. Check and see if they will cover a visit to Hibner. I had paperwork showing I'd had surgery with him, so maybe that made it more obvious that I should go to him. But, there aren't many options. And if you are considering surgery, you would really only have a handful of options.
