Question for those who've had TG surgery

Hi all,

I had bi-lateral TG surgery 2 weeks ago in Vienna, by Prof. Aszmann. I've suffered with PN symptoms for about 6 years now, with urinary frequency being the biggest problem.

The surgery went fine without complications, and Prof. Aszmann and his assistant doctor were extremely friendly before and after the operation. Right now I'm still going through a pretty big flare-up of symptoms (mainly urinary), which I assume is normal after surgery.

For those of you who've had PNE with urinary frequency and who chose the TG approach, how long did it take for the urinary symptoms to get better and did you go through a temporary flare-up after the operation?

Also wondering if you're supposed to do some kind of PT exercise right after the surgery to prevent scar tissue? I took it pretty easy for the first 10 days, aside from having to climb up some stairs and walk through the airport. I was told to take walks which I started doing a few days ago, but am not sure how much is too much/too little.

Thanks.

I had TG surgery many years ago and didn’t develop any urinary symptoms after, but I did have pain flares for months after. I think the surgery can irritate the nerve and we just feel that in different ways. I hope you are having less symptoms by now. Please update when you can.
