PNE Decompression Surgery Cost

Post by cwb125 »

Does anyone have any idea how much PNE Decompression Surgery Cost will cost? Frankly, I just have no idea if it will be 4 figures, 5 figures, or even 6 figures+. I am going to see a doctor via telehealth pretty soon and am scared since the appointment will cost several hundred dollars.

Depends on where you have it done. If you don't have insurance and it's in the US it will be more expensive than somewhere like France. I think many people in the US have had theirs paid for by insurance though.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Thank you for the reply. Like so many things, the pandemic makes France much less viable.

I thought the FDA considered the surgery "experimental;" thus, insurance companies would not pay for it?

Depends on the insurance company, what insurance the doctor accepts, and what surgical approach you are having, but there are numerous people who have PNE surgery paid for by insurance.
