Re: Male Pudendal Nerve Entrapment Diary...
I saw my specialist yesterday & he was relatively happy with my progress. They are sending me to a pain clinic in my city, so no more 400 mile round trips any more. Which I am delighted about as my pain flares up a lot after the travelling. The pain clinic in my city will be more regular & there should be some physiotherapy as well. So while I am in incredible pain from the travelling yesterday, I am a little more optimistic than I have been recently. Although my optimism is probably a little tempered with reality. Time will tell how it all pans out...

It's good to hear you sounding a bit more optimistic, Andy. I know this has been a long haul for you and I hope that you will be able to get your pain levels lowered.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Violet, may I ask you a question about your recovery please? My question is, when did you start to feel like there may be an end to your symptoms? I ask you because as you have read, I have had strong fluctuations during my "recovery", but every now & again, there is a small glimmer of hope & relative peace. Other times, pain that makes a grown man cry. I have also noticed improvement to my temperature issue & my ED & general sensitivity in "those" areas are almost working in good order. I just wondered when you started to feel like you might be beating this condition...

Andy, it's hard to put an exact date on it because it happened so slowly and I continued to have flare-ups for several years. Around 9 months after surgery I quit taking opioids but I still had days with significant pain, and I still couldn't sit for very long. At that point I was able to manage the pain pretty much with ice. I couldn't really sit for very long until 18 months post-op. Slowly over several more years the pain continued to fade. Now, 12 years after surgery, even though I occasionally have symptoms if I do the wrong activities, the symptoms are mild and don't last very long.Andy_Pablo wrote: My question is, when did you start to feel like there may be an end to your symptoms?

Thank you for your answer. I suppose I am still early in my "recovery" in the grand scheme... Its just so frustrating.

I know, I remember I felt like I was in "prison" of pain for awhile after surgery and it's especially hard not knowing if you will be one of the lucky ones who eventually starts to feel better. Hoping you will feel better soon, Andy.

Re: Male Pudendal Nerve Entrapment Diary...
Just to update, my symptoms have been fluctuating pretty wildly lately. They have varied from a pain scale of 2/10 to the current spike of 9/10. I am expecting things to settle with some rest over the next week or two. Frustrating, as I think it was only some mellow stretching that has inflamed things, but will hopefully find a happy medium as time passes. I am determined to not let this shit beat me & will attempt to be more active over the course of the next eighteen months...
