Hi Violet, I remember in some post that, generally speaking, you talked about TG approach more indicated in male then TIR and TIR more indicated when there is a pelvis misalignment (sorry if I report something wrong). I'm male and have misalignment...(legs dismetria, scoliosis, ecc...). What a difficult life! :(

gabriel,

I just read your first post. You had many failed nerve blocks. According to the Nantes criteria, you are not a candidate for surgery. Don't do it.
You also say that you have IBS. Do you think it is related to your pelvic pain?

Yes, IBS is related... I think I understand what you mean, searching some sort of pshycosomatic interpretation, relaxment, physio-mental-terapy, Wise-Anderson protocol, ecc... I tried in part this way but I did not feel any better. One can always argue that I am not committed enough but I simply don't believe in it.

PS: I accumulate about 200 or more psycotheray sessions along the years, altough generic ones.

I talked with the "pain therapy" doctor in my country to discuss the situation and take some advice, she is very heplful and accept the fact that other specilaist foow me too.
She haven't specific knowledge about pudendal neuralgia but general experience in pain therapy and management and suggest to try pulsed radiofrequncy (it will applicate on sacral roots) and Scrambler therapy. I will do it but only just for a try...

gabriel,

I indeed recovered with mindbody after 12 years of pudendal pain. It took me 2 years of complete focus on the mindbody connection.
I got no help from psychologists.
I simply don't believe in it.
Then it is not the right approach for you. You cannot heal if you are even slightly ambivalent. Good luck with surgery or whatever path you choose.

nonsequitur, precisely what specialist should I search for a mindbody specific therapy?

You can look into it if you had trauma in your past or suffer from anxiety. If your pain started during or after a stressful event, that would be a good indication. Non-bacterial prostatitis is a mindbody syndrome. You perpetually keep the pelvic floor in contraction unconsciously.

Also if prior to pelvic pain, you had other symptoms like back pain, OCD, IBS, or some allergies that could point to a somatoform pain disorder.

In my opinion, you can heal without a specialist. In many ways I think you have to make the effort yourself to heal. If you rely on someone else to "fix" you, it means that you may not be ready yet.

There are resources on tmswiki.org. Alan Gordon does skype sessions for example.
