Keep posting when you are able to. Definitely sounds like the surgery was always the only option for you on this particular side anyway.
Isn't it THE most frustrating thing to be told that it is all in your head!
Because pain is so subjective even trying to describe it with aid of a 1-10 pain scale often doesn't help. Wish it was transferable, just for a few minutes (or more) so that those who do have the capacity to say, 'it's all in your head', will NEVER, EVER say it again
