I was on the patches for back pain....I tried using them for the PNE and I did not find any relief from the burning pain, so I switched to oxycontin 60mg. It has worked pretty good until the re-formulated it. It does not work as well. I do not know what they did other than trying to make it harder for people who want a high on it. It has never caused me to feel high, but then again I take it for the chronic pain of PNE. As far as being addicted to it...our bodies do get use to the medication and in that sense taking it it is a form of addiction due that you would need to be taken off of it slowly. If I never had to take a pain pill again, I would be so happy. I have never tried using valium until this week. I took a 10 mg and it seems to help with the burning pain...with the oxycontin...I have TM, never pain in the brain that affects the face and it helps that, so I am going to give it a try for PNE. I would really be happy if it did help control the pain and I could go off the pain pill. Any suggestions of what would help would be appreciated. I have tried a lot of things...however, I can not take anti-depressant pills and Lyrica quit working for me...Going on 8 years with this after a motorcycle wreck and a back fusion.

Thanks,
Sandi

I dont' have any advice really unfortunately Sandi. But I find it interesting that the Lyrica stopped working for you. How long did it take for that to happen? I think Neurontin isn't working as well for me anymore either. I do not know your story, but have you considered blocks, surgery, or a stimulator or something?
