Lindsey, what kind of exercises is she having you do? I'm all for trying PT but if it's making you worse that doesn't seem right that you should continue it -- but I could be wrong. Actually, I think the wrong type of PT is what pushed me over the edge into full-blown PGAD. Later I tried a different PT who did internal work one day and I had a week-long flare-up afterward. I decided that it didn't make sense to keep irritating the nerve if it was already being irritated by ligaments. In the end, my instincts were right. So, I don't know, I could be wrong, maybe PT is right for you, but I would sure be asking some questions of the PT as to why you should continue with something that is making you worse.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Hey Violate, it was Dr.Echenberg's PT who is very used to IC and PN patients. She taught me internal work you do with your thumb with lubracation, once a week. Also stretches where I lay on my back and bend my knee up tothe opposite dirrection and h hold 60 seconds each time. I also do some stretches sitting on a chair crossing my foot on my knee and sitting up straight and gently go forward ans hold for 60 seconds. They were light stretches. My pudendak nerve isnt flaring bad like it was. But my clitorus has been bothering me all weekend. She told me to hold off on the internal work for a week and a half for now. What kind of PT excercises gave you full blown pgad?

Lindsey, I can't remember all of the stretches (it's been over 10 years ago) but I remember one of them was squats with hip openers. Maybe your PT has good reasons for assigning you those exercises based on her assessment of your case. I don't know....but if the nerve is compressed between ligaments, when you stretch the nerve can't glide and it can cause a stretch injury to the nerve. Some people say they've gotten better from stretching though so maybe it depends on whether the nerve is entrapped. I know there are people who say the concept of pudendal nerve entrapment is ridiculous but I can only tell you my own experience and it proved true in my case.

Hi, I have not been able to find one, so that is why I purchased mine. There are some inexpensive coil type unit online.
