Many physical activites such as sports, pelvic surgery, etc can all contribute to PN

Hi Kathy,
Have you ever looked into any of Lorraine Faehndrich courses? She is a Womans Mind-Body coach, and had terrible vulvodynia herself. Perhaps you have explored this already. I believe there are several women who post on HOPE that have been helped. If you are exploring the mind-body connection, check out her website.

"To learn more about how you can work with Lorraine and to receive a Free Mind Body Alchemy Starter Kit please visit - http://www.RadiantLifeDesign.com

I get her newsletter, and I'm seriously thinking about her next course, sorry I don't know when it is right now.
I did one mindfulness course, felt I was terrible at it.... it does take practice. I think this would suite me better, it's geared specifically for pelvic pain.
I too, have anxiety about the pain that goes with PN, therefore leading to more pain, and limitations.

Praying for some relief for you!
Debbie

Hi Debbie
Thanks sooo much for thinking of me and telling me about this course..No I have not heard of it before, but have explored some mind body interventions in the past.
I think this is a big piece of the solution for me. May be I can PM you to explain more. I think my problems started with pelvic floor dysfunction, which has become very severe at this point.
The anxious mind plays havoc with the pelvic floor.
I am very anxious genetically ( runs in family) and any stress ups my pain exponentially! I feel my body tighten and spasm in pain almost immediately.

I would be very interested in leaning more. I' ll google it and maybe I can PM you to tell you more.

The only part of the mind body self care stuff I must avoid completely is diet restrictions (hopefully thats not a part of the therapy)

Ive "been there done that" with the diet stuff and suffice it to say it didn't help my IC or other issues, it made me very sick and mal-nourished
as I am very thin genetically to begin with.
But everything else Im quite open to!
Thanks so much Debbie! ...Your kindness is really appreciated! You are a sweetheart!

Warm Hugs and best wishes to you.

Sure, pm me, I'm learning about it myself. Stephanie Prendergast PT has her listed on her website.
I believe Lorraine is located in NY state, maybe close to you?

I'll be around tonight and tomorrow afternoon.
