Hunter, I never tried PTNS. MRI did not show any abnormalities but mine was done 9+ years ago and the 3 T is much improved over what I had. From what I have read the MRN can detect certain entrapments as can the 3T MRI if done using certain software settings but there is no test that is 100% accurate. There have been discussions as to whether the 3T MRI from Dr. Potter or the MRN is more accurate but I don't know that there has been any definite conclusion one way or the other. If the MRN is not too far away, that might be the route to go. The only negative thing I have heard about the MRN (and this would be true of the 3T MRI too) is that there are certain types of entrapments that may not show up on it -- for instance entrapments that are caused by ligament strain or sacroiliac joint dysfunction. But since your pain originated with bladder surgery it seems possible that entrapment caused by scar tissue might show up on the MRN. Scar tissue is frequently mentioned as a cause of entrapment on MRN and MRI reports.
