Hello Andrea,

I am really sorry for your loss and I know that is combination with recovery from major operation it is even more difficult. Please, keep strong

I did not go through operation. (Yet). But my PN was stretched due to my pelvic misalignment. After 6 weeks of treatment I started to develop electric shocks in the area that were horrible. I looked strange but I was ready to scream in a middle of the street all of the sudden.
May be my pain is my nerve coming alive. May be yours is having the same nature.
You probably still have significant swelling from operation.

I would wait for several more months at least to think about outcome.

Try to do mild walking and try to understand gliding exercises. I never understood them but you need them to prevent scar tissue. Stay away from bending and stairs.

Nerves grow very slow so you need your patience to go through it.

Good luck,

Helen

hi
thanks to you all, i am really sorry i havent replied earlier but with the funeral to sort out and also i was rushed into hospital with a suspected stroke, it wasnt but they said it was all down to the immense stress i am under with all of these things going on.
i am now 10 weeks post op and some days the pain is so much worse, i havent seen any improvement yet at all and am feeling really despondant now, the new pain consultant i am waiting to see is on extended sick leave at the moment and so i dont know when she will be back.
i am also getting zing type pains in the vulval area, i do find sometimes that the pain is worse when i lay on the scar of the op, like that presses on the pn nerve, i dont know if that can happen and wether i am still swollen and inflamed inside maybe someone else could give me some insight into that

Andrea, it's not unusual for the nerve to start zinging as it wakes up, and for months 3 and 4 to be the worst. I know it seems like forever but it may take more time. I was on narcotics until 9 months post-op. Hopefully life will calm down for you a little bit and you won't have so many extra stresses soon. ;)

Take care,

Violet
