It could be PS matt but it is so difficult to tell exactly although PS and sitting isn't a good combo but then neither is sitting and PN. When you say the tops of your thighs do you mean the front or back? if it is back it could be something to do with the postfemoral cutaneous nerve/ inferior cluneal nerve but these nerves wouldn't be affected if it was at the front. Is the pain down the back of the leg following the sciatic(ish) line down the leg? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Gray832.png
I have to say that my leg pain is more over top the outside of the back of my leg than the middle as the sciatic nerve route is shown on here. Have no idea if that is significant or just that everyone is a bit different.
A standing workstation or at least an adjustable height one would probably be a good idea although if you try to limit sitting and then reintroduce slowly (difficult, but some say it works for them) that could help too. kneeling and different types of office chairs and cushions can also benefit.
Hope you get over this flare up of symptoms soon.
Take care,
Helen

Re: Is this PN?
Fall 2008. Misdiagnosed with lumber spine problem. MRN June 2010 indicated pudendal entrapment at Alcocks canal. Diagnosed with complex variant piriformis syndrome with sciatic, pudendal and gluteal entrapment's by Dr Filler 2010.Guided piriformis botox injection 2011 Bristol. 2013, Nerve conduction test positive; new spinal MRI scan negative, so diagnosed for the 4th time with pelvic nerve entrapment, now recognised as Sciatic, pudendal, PFCN and cluneal nerves at piriformis level.

Hi Helen
Flare up lasted a day maybe day and half, some days the sciatic pain down back of thigh in middle, is gone probably due to neurotonin and not irtitaring it by certain activities. Other days iscomes bsck usually at end of day or being irritated by sitting. The burning was is on top front of thighs and sometimes between thighs near groin those are both random and low grade. Sometimes is accompanied with low grade burn in tip of urethra signifying possible pn along with pelvis ache. Probably best to see a physio not matter what caused it between meds and therapy hopefully can kick this in the butt, no pun intended.
