Calluna, thanks for that clarification on how things are in the UK. It appears to be different than in the US where of course the patient's safety is of paramount concern but the issue of physician liability is also a concern. We had a discussion of this on the old forum when a patient was denied medication due to their suicidal thoughts so I just thought I should mention the possibility.
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

It is surprising sometimes how different things are, isn't it. Someone actually being denied medication that they needed, because of suicidal thoughts - that's awful. People suing doctors is not common here. There is always a way to manage things, until we found ourselves in our current situation I had no idea just how much help was available within the system - a lot more than I had thought possible.
