The neurologist I first saw who prescribed the 600 mg of Gabpentin told me that she wouldn't prescribe more than 450 mg a day of Lyrica. I am on 800 mg and am in considerable distress. It's a good thing that I don't have to work. I am not in agony, but constantly have a painful throbbing of my genital area and anus. Even at this high dose of Lyrica. I felt like telling the doctor that if she didn't prescribe higher than 450 mg, she was leaving her patients in pain. I don't think she has ever dealt with PN or PNE.

Bathsheba, I'm sorry lyrica isn't taking your pain away. Often a combination of drugs works better than one by itself so you may want to ask about adding some additional pain medication. Check out the pain medication page for more info. http://pudendalhope.org/node/20 Maybe you also want to consider a pain management specialist who is willing to prescribe more meds.

I haven't heard of valium causing constipation. Doctors routiney prescribe 10 mg three times daily. What dose are you on?
