I just came across Dr. Possover in a Google search for pudendal nerve sacral roots. Makes me want to weep. Here's a guy who could very likely help me, but he's too far away to do me any good.
The LION procedure ("Laparoscopic Implantation Of Neuroprothesis“) sounds exactly like what I need. From his website:
http://www.possover.de/index.php?id=15&L=1
- LION procedure to control refractary pudendal neuralgia
- LION procedure to control sacral roots neuralgia
I think that I have an issue with my sacral roots that is tied into the pudendal nerve. I wonder if there is anyone stateside that is doing this sort of work? Anyone heard anything?

I contacted Dr. Possover a little over 1 year ago and at the point he had not trained anyone in the states. If you email he will respond so if he has trained someone in the states let me know.

Hello!
i'm reading this forum for a while, and now i want to write a little bit about me. i have my problems since 08/2010 as a result of cycling while a little triatlon. I became numb penis while this.the next weeks i had problems only at night when lie on my side. then my scrotum and penis gets numb.
Because of an intervertebral disc prolapse that i had from 11/2010 till 04/2011 all doctors thought that this was the cause.
in 08/2011 after beginning to work again my hole penis, perineum and rectal parts gets numb. since this a wear now tight jeans, sit only on cushion ring and restrict my lifestyle.
my symptoms are now that i have nearly never pain, but i get prickle and dragging when i sit without ring cusion, while standing(then i became a prickling like asleep hands) an when i make abdominal exercises for my back.
in september i was in vienna my Dr. Aszmann, and now i planned my surgery in februar next year. he believes that he can help me because i am in a early statium of the problems.
suspicious for me is, that i never read in this forum that people had the problems only by standing, not in walking. when i walk, its allright, but as soon i stand still, my problems a increasing very fast.
greetings mari

Mari,
I have the most problems with standing. Sitting is bad too, but not as painful as standing. Shopping is a nightmare.
With walking I am much better.
Best luck for your surgery with Prof. Aszmann and please let us know how you are doing.
Anne
