I have tried Tramadol in the past.....it hyped me up no end and led to a serious rash all over my body, it felt like ants were crawling all over me....my blood pressure was totally maxed out and i was on another planet. I took it at night in a hospital environment and unfortunately for me it led to many nights of very agitated times. I will never take it again!
PNE started 2003 following Vaginal Hysterectomy, pelvic floor repair and right oophorectomy; eventually after many tests had BilateralTG surgery Nantes 2004; following this tried many other treatments including 7 day epidural, ketamin infusions to no avail; Trialed and was implanted with a Neurostimulator in 2007- Dr Van Buyten Belgium, this has enabled me to manage my pain much better.

Amanda,

You poor thing! :( What an awful thing to happen to you in a hospital, on top of everything else that put you there. After my last pelvic surgery I too had a horrible sleepless night. I was in excruciating pain and they wouldn't give me anything for it because they said that my blood pressure was dangerously low. The ICU team was sent for. They infused me with a blood product (albumin?) and raised the head of my bed so that I was practically sitting up all night (yes, great for the sore butt). I suffered like this all night long until a new, senior nurse arrived in the morning. She fetched an old fashioned b.p cuff with a hand-held pump and took my b.p. manually. Lo and behold it was fine! Turns out the modern digital electric b.p. machine used by the night nurse wasn't working properly. I got out of there as fast as I could. My surgeon told me to, "before they find something else wrong with you"!
Athlete until pain started in 2001. Diagnosed with PN in Nov. 2010. Probable cause: 3 difficult labors, 5 pelvic surgeries for endometriosis, and undiagnosed hip injuries. 60% better after 3 rounds of shockwave therapy in Cornwall, Ontario (Dec - Feb/12). 99% better after bilateral hip scopes for FAI and labral tears (April and July/12). Pelvic pain life coach Lorraine Faendrich helped me overcome the mind/body connection to chronic pain: http://www.radiantlifedesign.com

Wow Lernica it sounds like you had a terrible experience Im sure you were much better off out of the hospital.

One funny thing I remember about my sleepless nights with Tramadol was that the movie Hollowman was on tv, I would normally never watch anything like this, but I was fascinated as i felt like someone was peeling layers off my body so watched the whole movie.....but once ive seen it I know not to watch it again.... :o :o
