Thank you so much A's Mommy! Yes I gave pianogal a call last night and I look forward to speaking with her soon! I'm sure she has a wealth of knowledge and can share her experiences about doctors and treatment in Southern California. I would have called her a lot sooner but the past few days have been really painful due to the injection. Anyway, I can't wai to speak with pianogal!

New Mom, I'm sorry you are having such a difficult time after the nerve block. Have you tried ice yet? I know it's only a temporary solution but kept me from going insane on numerous occasions. Many of us use it internally as well, by freezing balloons filled with water and inserting them vaginally. It's a little intense at first so you may have to slide them in and out several times but they can really numb vaginal pain like nothing else can.

I did have vaginal nerve blocks. They were very painful, caused bleeding for some days and a great pain flare up. This lasted about two weeks before I got back to my normal level of pain. they also did nothing to help. The doctor is considered a pelvic pain specialist - is it any wonder we become more confused and depressed as these doctors don't help and often make things worse?

Thank you for the tip Violet - I have tried ice in the past (but only externally) and it never seemed to help me unfortunately. The good news is that the increased pain from the vaginal injection I had is finally resolving I think. :) But it has made me wary of any kind of injections.

angiemcs - I totally agree! As all of us have seen way too many doctors to keep track of, I was shocked to learn how insensitive and uncaring some doctors can be, esp those who are in the pain business! :(
