Yes, yesterday I told my son twice (because he didn't understand me the first time...go figure) that I had oreo cookies dunked in coffee for milk. He just kept looking at me like I was crazy and finally repeated back what I said. OOppppss Truly I meant for breakfast!!!
Anyone else just say odd things out of the blue?????

Orea Cookies and Coffe for Milk...
Have been dealing with burning pain since Jan 2010.
No sitting since April 2010.
Seen the following dr's: DO, GYN, Dermatologist, Accupuncturist,
URO GYN (his RN is the one who suggested the pain could be PN), Neurologist
Had ECG and MRI both inconclusive, only the SSEP said Pudendal reaction was abnormal and they lost that test result.
Saw Dr. Castellanos April 6, 2011. Next steps, MRI and botox. Having PT while waiting.-Botox denied, appealing to Insurance company now.

Re: Orea Cookies and Coffe for Milk...
The oddest things would come out of my mouth last year when I was on Neurontin, baclofen, zanaflex, and elavil. Sometimes I would be standing in front of my students lecturing and mybrain would just short circuit and I would forget what I was saying in the middle of a sentence. So embarrassing. Or I would know exactly the words I wanted to say but couldn't make my mouth say them.
2008: mild pelvic pain and PFD began
2009: true PN/PFD pain, two PN blocks, normal PNMLT
2010: PT and conservative management with moderate improvement in PN/PFD symptoms
2011: surgery for extensive endometriosis; arthroscopic hip surgery to repair labral tear and FAI (right hip)
2012: C-section delivery of first child
2014: arthroscopic hip surgery to repair labral tear and FAI (left hip); C-section delivery of second child
Ongoing physical therapy since 2010 for both pelvic floor and hips.

Re: Orea Cookies and Coffe for Milk...
That has always happened to me frequently throughout my life, on no meds at all.
The difference I have noticed on meds, is that when I was med-less, I used to "substitute" words and keep on going, without even noticing my mistake. Now I "lose" words and will just stop and cringe because I can't remember the word I need to use at all, so my speech is sometimes kind of halting and awkward.
I also sometimes can't think of a simple thing to say during a small talk encounter, like someone will say "how are you?", and I really just can't think of an appropriate response.
This is the worst now that I am on the medication regimen that helps my symptoms the most. I take valium which does not have side effects for me, but the neurontin makes me a moron (moron-tin), and then when I combine it with nortriptyline, I am just about as verbally slow and ungraceful as can be.
Well we are not alone at least

pelvic pain started 1985 age 14 interstitial cystitis. Refused medical care from age 17, did GREAT with self care for years.
2004 PN started gradually, disabled by 2009. Underlying cause SIJD & Tarlov cysts
improved with PT & meds: neurontin, valium, nortriptyline, propanolol. (off nortriptyline & propanolol now, yay!)
Tarlov cyst surgery with Dr. Frank Feigenbaum March 20, 2012.
Results have been excellent so far; but I won't know my final functional level for a couple of years.

Here is a list of my kids' favorite stupid things that I have said:
1. "I am not a one-pony horse show, y' know."
2. "That tickled my humor bone."
3. (When filling out a school form:) "What's your date of birth, again?" (greeted with a look of genuine shock and alarm by the child in question)
4. Getting their names mixed up.
5. Getting the name of my eldest daughter mixed up with my little sister.
6. Never remembering what those skimpy undies worn by teenage girls are called. I call them "gotchies".
7. Calling bus tickets "street car" tickets because that's how I traveled as a kid.
8. Calling CDs "albums".
9. Buying CDs.

Athlete until pain started in 2001. Diagnosed with PN in Nov. 2010. Probable cause: 3 difficult labors, 5 pelvic surgeries for endometriosis, and undiagnosed hip injuries. 60% better after 3 rounds of shockwave therapy in Cornwall, Ontario (Dec - Feb/12). 99% better after bilateral hip scopes for FAI and labral tears (April and July/12). Pelvic pain life coach Lorraine Faendrich helped me overcome the mind/body connection to chronic pain: http://www.radiantlifedesign.com

Re: Orea Cookies and Coffe for Milk...
Those are great!!! My son just loves it when I call him my brothers name. Or me trying to describe what I'm making for dinner but can't remember what it's called. Any more he just shrugs his shoulders and fills in the blank. Somehow it helps knowing I'm not, wait, what's the word I'm looking for, what were we talking about??? How about some oreo cookies and coffee for milk
(Geeez, I just now noticed that I spelled oreo and coffee wrong...and I proof read at work!! YIKES!!)
