Recent mri of pelvis shows
Subtle soft tissue oedema in the distal and lateral aspect of the left obturator internus muscle and tendon, suggesting mild insertional tendinopathy and/or mild sprain.
Could this be a contributing factor to pn symptoms?
Had lots of other mild stuff found too. Gluteus medius tendonopothy, labral tear, greater trochanter bursitis etc. consultant said most people of 58 would have bits and bobs found. But could the obturator internus be key?
Soft tissue oedema obturator internus on MRI?
Re: Soft tissue oedema obturator internus on MRI?
A tight OI muscle for me has caused rectal pain.
Re: Soft tissue oedema obturator internus on MRI?
Pudendal nerve runs alongside the obturator internus in the Alcock's canal.
There are people who have posted on this forum that a labral tear turned out to be the cause of their pelvic pain.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
